
This is me… Lis
Hi, and welcome to all you lovely people. I’ve created this in the hope that it will give me the boost I need to continue this weight loss journey. And also in the hope that someone will follow this and have the motivation and inspiration to do this too.
I think that in order to lose weight, you have got to want to do it first. No point family, friends, doctors, health professionals or whoever telling you that you need to lose weight, because I don’t think that’s the kick up the backside that you need. Do this journey for yourself, do it because you want to be there for your kids, do it so the random kid in the street doesn’t say ‘mummy, look at her belly’, do it for whatever reason you want.
And yes, I have had many comments about my weight, from family, friends, doctors and so many other people I have lost track. I have never been a skinny girl, and I never will be, but I will be happy if I can reduce the size of my belly, and feel better in myself.
Now a huge problem with me is … I just LOVE food. I mean just the thought of a big pizza, or Indian takeaway, or a nice warm chocolate brownie makes me hungry 😋 but I’m determined to find ways to make this lifestyle change permanent.
Earlier in 2021, I started doing the calorie counting diet that everyone was doing on TikTok, and you know what it really did work for me. The only thing I hated was weighing out everything to get the correct calories. I lost a stone doing it and I’m proud of myself.
However, that was when I had a more physical job when I was on my feet all day. Now I work from home, sat at a computer, so as you can imagine there is so much temptation around.
